Bryndzove

The first food is Bryndzové halušky which refers to high quality sheep cheese. The sheep cheese is produced locally in Slovakia. In this dish, cheese is served on top of potato dumplings known as halušky. At first glance, the dumplings look similar to Italian gnocchi. For the best combination, this dish is usually topped with sausage and pieces of bacon.

Bryndza

Bryndza is a type of cheese unique to Slovakia. People in Slovakia usually eat potato dumplings with bryndza cheese and seasoned with sour cream and fried meat. Bryndzové pirohy is usually served with sour Slovak sheep’s milk. Even though this dish has quite a sharp taste, it is still worth trying.

Kapustnica

In Slovakia there is a unique dish in the form of cabbage soup known as Kapustnica. This dish is usually served in traditional Christmas celebrations as an appetizer or appetizer. However, Kapustnica is now widely available in Slovak restaurants served warm with freshly baked bread.

Kapustnica

Kapustnica is a heartwarming, rich and tangy cabbage or sauerkraut soup, with such soups characteristic of the Central European region.

One of Slovakia’s most comforting and comforting dishes, the soup is a mix of sauerkraut, dried mushrooms, sliced smoked sausage, and onions, seasoned with nutmeg, paprika, and garlic, and served with toasted bread.

This traditional soup has a deep, smokey flavor, thanks to the combination of softened fazula beans and smoked bacon. Sour cream, milk, flour, potatoes, and vinegar help form a thick, creamy base, while garlic, pepper, and bay leaves permeate the stock with extra spice and flavor.

Fazuľová Polievka is usually served with dry bread and butter. It can be eaten either as a starter or as a main course, and true comfort in a bowl, that’s for sure.
